Get yourself a high-speed, high-quality blender. I try to use only organic ingredients:
-
- 1 banana (best if you peel a banana, cut it up, place in reusable freezer bag or freezer-safe container, freeze overnight, as it makes the smoothie creamier)
-
- 3 heaping handfuls of fresh, washed, raw baby spinach
-
- 1 cup of unsweetened plant-based milk, like this macadamia nut milk
-
- 1 cup spring water
-
- 1 tsp Ceylon Cinnamon
-
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds, I love this brand
-
- 1 tablespoon unsweetened almond butter (If you’re allergic to nuts, you can use any seed butter instead. A tiny pinch of sea salt adds electrolytes. I like this one because it has so many natural minerals)
-
- 1 tsp freshly squeezed lemon juice (adds a boost of vitamin C and will make the green color pop after blending)
-
- Blend for 60 seconds or so.
-
- Add ice if desired, pour into a glass, and enjoy 45 minutes before or immediately after a workout
